November 13, 2017
Oi família e amigos!! Sooo I am in Taquaralto, Tocantins and I am sweating every second of the day. (': We took a 13 hour bus ride, (back story... The bus had AC and it was raining so it was cold) well when we got there and stepped out of the bus it was like I was breathing warm water!!! I almost drowned. (;

But I love my companion, her name is Sister Lima and she is from São Paulo. We are sharing a house with the Sister Training Leaders in a super good area. I am super excited! We are still trying to figure out our area but I know that the member are cool and that this area is huge. The second day though we had a meeting with our zone and I recieved a cute little envelope... of Lindsay's wedding invitation. (': LOL, now I am super trunky, thanks Linds! (;

But I seriously love this area already and I am super excited to sweat off all the weight that I have gained. (; I hope you all have a good week, I love you all!!

P.S. I conquered the rubik's cube in less than a week. #killin'it

Week 34-Vou para Palmas

November 6, 2017
I am getting transferred! So I got on a bus at 12 AM this morning and arrived in Brasília at 5:30 AM (BTW all of this I was alone...) then I slept at the bus stop with all my bags... and then I woke up and there were two elders sitting next to me ready to say good morning!? I was super confused. But now I am waiting to go to my next area which is a 14 hour bus ride from here... and the temp gets up to 120 degrees.... WAHOO! Everyone says that it is super duper cool there sooo I am super excited. I am also going to be senior... I am freakin out about that part. :O But I am going to be sharing a house the the sister training leaders and guess what... both of them are going home at the end of this transfer (' :

Buttttt, I don't have much time to email because the internet is exspensive here... Sooo I hope you all have a good week, and know that I love you all very much!!!

Week 31- It's SUPER HOT here!

October 16, 2017
Hey there peeps! So yesterday I went to another church... Let me tell you, my testimony has been stregthened so much because of it. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the earth that has the complete truth of the gospel. Oh how grateful for this gospel and the truths that it contains. Oh by the way the church was really just like I was at a gospel rock concert, literally. They had a band and singers and we prayed like 5 times (I think) it didn't feel like a prayer...  Also Sister Vergara and I had two baptisms, Ivani (mom)  and Taylla (daughter)! They are awesome and just super funny! We also sang at the baptism. Oh that is another thing I am basically a singer here. Other thing, it is SUPER HOT here. I take two showers a day and then wake up in the middle of the night thristy and wet because of the sweat.. It is bad. But I love it here!!! I hope you guys are all doing well. Boa semana, te amo muito!!!!

Week 30- 7 MESES JÁ?!

Week 29-Posse has my heart

October 2, 2017
I am now in Posse y'all! Y'all probably wonderin' why I'm sayin' y'all and all that... Well it's because I think I am in a "redneck" town of Brazil and I LOVE IT. Here in Posse!!! My companion is Sister Vergara, she is from Chili and I am her first American companion and her last companion on the mission! We are opening the area here in Posse but we are living with two other sisters so they will be able to help us.  Posse is in the middle of nowhere and super hot BTW.  I don't have much to say because we have literally been cleaning our house (there were Elders there...) this whole week and getting to know members and the area. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing good and being safe! I love you all!!!

Week 26-saudades de vocês!! (':

September 11, 2017
Oi família e amigos! Realmente, tenho saudades de vocês. Soooo I am back to emailing you all, sorry about the huge break of no emails. I promise I will try to be better from now on! OK, gente, so if I spell anything wrong or if my sentences are alittle funny, I am sorry because it is really hard to think/write in English super fast. I am still in Ceilândia 3, we will have transfers here at the end of this month so we will see if I will stay here again or what. This weekend we had a baptism, of the 13 year old named Rafael, he is a kid to a less active member (that isn't less active anymore, (BTW) WAHOO!!) And his older brother will be getting baptized this Saturday which should be really good. Tommorrow, Laurita will be getting baptized and nossa, it is going to be super awesome.

So I am going to tell you guys about our wonderful house that I live in here. Sooo it has a lot of cockroaches, ants, andddddd LIZARDS!!! (': My comp and I were getting used to the cockroaches/ants and they were begging to be our umm "friends" but NOT the lizards. OK, now I will tell you my first encounter with our lizard, so we got home from a long day and I went into the BR to take a shower and I got in the shower and looked up at the ceiling and he was just freaking there!?? I just hurried up and got out. BUT, listen here, my comp went to go take a shower after me and she got in and all I heard was her screaming and yelling at the lizard saying, "NO, NO, NO. STOP!!!" The lizard fell off the ceiling and on to the ground in front of her!!!! LOL!!! Anywayssss, that is our lives here in Ceilândia.

During my professional life as pilot, relied greatly on the precision and reliability of computer systems but rarely had to work my own personal computer. In my office work as an executive, had assistants and secretaries who kindly helped me with the tasks.All this changed in 1994, when was called as General Authority. My calling consisted omany wonderful opportunities to minister, but it also included great deal of Church office work—more than ever thought possible.To my shock, the main tool to stay on top of my work was personal computer.For the first time in my life, had to delve into this strange, mystifying, incomprehensible world.From the start, the computer and were not on the friendliest of terms.Able tech people tried to teacme how to use the computer. They literally stood behind mereaching over my shoulder, their fingers moving quickly antapping percussive symphonagainst the keyboard.“See?” they would say proudly. “That’s how you do it.”did not see. It was rocky transition.My learning curve was more likbrick wall.It took great deal of time, repetition, patience; no small amount of hope and faith; lotof reassurance from my wife; and many liters of diet sodthat shall remain nameless.Now, 22 years later, am surrounded by computer technology. have an email address, Twitter account, and Facebook page. own smartphone, tablet, laptop, and digital camera. And,while my tech skills may not quite measure up to those of typical seven-year old, for septuagenarian, dall right.But have noticed something interesting. The more adept get at technology, the more take it for granted.For large part of human history, communication happened at the speed of horse. Sending message and getting reply could take days or even months. Today our messages travel thousands of miles into the sky or thousands of meters beneatthe oceans to reach someone on the other side of the worldand if there is delay of even few seconds, we get frustrated and impatient.It seems to be human nature: awe become more familiar with something, even something miraculous and awe-inspiring, we lose our sense of awe and treat it as commonplace.Taking for granted our modern technologies and conveniences may be relatively small matter. But, sadly, we sometimes take similar attitude toward the eternal and sould- expanding doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the Chruch of Jesus Christ, we have been gien so much. WE are surrounded by such an astonishing wealth of light and truth that I wonder if we truly appreciate what we have. Think of those early disciples who walked and talked with thSavior during His earthly ministry. Imagine the thanksgiving and reverence that must havflooded their hearts and filled their minds when they saw Him risen from the tomb, when they felt the wounds in His hands. Their lives would never be the same!Think of the early Saints of this dispensation who knew the Prophet Joseph Smith and heard him preach the restored gospel. Imagine how they must have felt to know that the veil between heaven and earth had parted again, shedding light and knowlege upon the world from our celestial home above. But most of all, think of how you felt when for the first time you believed and understood that you are truly a childe of God; that Jesus Christ willingly suffered for your sins so that you may be clean again; that priesthood power is real and can bind you to your loved ones for time and all eternity; that there is a living prophet on the earth today. Isn't that wonderful and amazing?Considering all of this, how could it ever be possible that we of all people would not be excited about attending our Church worship services? Or get tired of reading the holy scriptures? suppose this could bpossible only if our hearts were past feeling to experiencgratitude and awe for the sacred and sublime gifts God has granted us. Life -changing truths are before oueyes and at our fingertips, but sometimes we sleepwalk on the path of discipleship. Too often we let ourselves be distracted by the imperfections of our fellow members instead of following the example of our Master. We tread path coverewith diamonds, but we can scarcely distinguish them from ordinary pebbles.  -Elder Uchtdorf
I hope you all have a good week! I love you all!!!
